Petition Presented to Parliament

On 30th July 2025 our petition with over 2700 signatures was presented to Parliament. This means we have secured a debate in the Upper House. This enable us to create more publicity about the Governments shameful behaviour.

We will be looking for volunteers to join us at the debate in Parliament which is likely to be within three months. If you are interested email us at info@berwicksprings.com.au.

Community Meeting

Ann-Marie Hermans, MP, has confirmed her attendance, and will open a petition to The Legislative Assembly to overturn the renaming of Berwick Springs Lake
Cr Shane Taylor has made his feelings clear in support of residents and will be on hand to answer questions, alongside fellow councillors Lynette Pereira and Michelle Crowther.
Michael Ball, BSCA President, has some major developments, and some astonishing news to announce following the receipt of Freedom of Information Requests.

Not All Members of the Sikh Community are in Favour of renaming Berwick Springs Lake

There have been some interesting comments on the SBS Punjabi Facebook page by Sikhs who do not favour the name change. 

We must remember that it is the State Government that has let down our community by failing to follow naming legislation and failing to consult the local community.

Berwick Springs Community Association

Residents formed the Berwick Springs Community Association to challenge the State Government and protect our community’s identiity.  President, Michael Ball, stated that “We are here for the long term, we don’t want division in our community we are united behind Berwick Springs Lake”.
